Global Hot Spot: The Total Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Sagittarius on December 3 – 4, 2021

Updated: Dec 2, 2021

Dateline December 2, 2021: For those of you who are now enjoying the Astrology Cosmic Kalendar one day at a time – but who have not yet subscribed to be able to look several weeks into the future – here are the calendar entries for two very significant days (Friday December 3 and Saturday December 4). Because every day – beyond the current 24 hours that we define as one rotation of our celestial orb on its axis – has astro-zodiacal magic, mystery and wonder is why thousands of people around the world have been tuning into the Astrological Cosmic Kalendar for the last 40 years and since it was at the heart-center of our Welcome to Planet Earth pioneering astrology newspaper/magazine during the 1980s and 1990s.

The Total Solar Eclipse which is also the Sagittarius New Moon occurring December 3 - 4 – happening when Mars in Scorpio is in a close, oblique, 150-degree aspect to far-away Eris in Aries, the Sun is forming the same questionable link to Uranus in Taurus, and when the Mercury/Vesta midpoint is united with both the Sun and Moon – can make an extraordinary impact in your personal life and for all of humanity. You can read more about these potent alignments in one of the two future calendar entries below as well as tune into Saturday December 4 when the Moon makes its monthly union with Messenger of the Gods planet Mercury and Mars forms a dicey parallel formation with Saturn. Please consider the merits of subscribing to the Astrology Cosmic Kalendar App to strengthen your already developing skills as a seer who can tune into the future ahead of time.

For a wide variety of insights on both of these rather momentous days this month – particularly associated with the USA birth chart from July 4, 1776 – please listen to my recent podcasts in the Mark Lerner Astrology Radio AstroScope section on our website. In several of these podcasts, I report on the Discovery of Chaos – a real far-away planet in our solar system with a 309-year orbit around the Sun. Chaos was discovered on November 19, 1998 – the same day that the recent Partial Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon in Scorpio and Taurus happened on this date in 2021. Therefore, many of the still unknown and mysterious vibrations emanating from Chaos may become more apparent at this time and in the near future as Chaos is transiting at the end of Gemini and will enter the first degree of Cancer (one of the two solstice turning points of every year) in 2022. In addition, the global map of key solar, lunar and planetary rising, setting, above and below lines around the world is presented within this feature and the Total Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Sagittarius horoscope calculated for Washington, D.C. is provided at the end of this feature.

Future Cosmic Kalendar Entries for Friday December 3 and Saturday December 4 (All times are listed in PST.)

Friday December 3 As indicated at the start of yesterday’s calendar entry, the next New Moon clocks in at 11:44pm as a Total Solar Eclipse energizing 13 degrees of Sagittarius. The path of totality of this powerful solar-lunar conjunction is in the area of Antarctica and therefore not moving through highly-populated regions of the world. Nevertheless, any Sun-Moon merger is the initiating point for the 29.5-day cycle ahead and it therefore holds enormous seed-potential that can determine the trajectory every soul on Earth ought to take in the four weeks ahead. Complicating the arrival of this Total Solar Eclipse is the void Moon vibration in Scorpio that only dissipates at 4:14am when the lunar orb enters Sagittarius. Meanwhile, nearly the entire day is under what is known as the dark-of-the-moon monthly phase until the exact time of the Total Solar Eclipse. The inherent meaning for this solar-lunar phase is that looking back over past achievements as well as setbacks is highlighted. A trio of fortuitous sky cycles gives you support as Mercury forms an inspirational, 72-degree link to Jupiter (12:33am), Vesta connects with Saturn via a constructive, 60-degree alliance (5:33am) and the Moon makes its monthly conjunction with investment-savvy and soul-sister asteroid Vesta (7:12pm). While these three sky alignments signify a strong thumbs-up from the universe, two anomalous aspects — the Sun in Sagittarius moving into an off-kilter, 150-degree tie to Uranus in Taurus (7:15am) and Mars in Scorpio forming an abrasive, 135-degree contact with Chiron in Aries (7:19pm) — can put you on the defensive. Once the New Moon/Total Solar Eclipse becomes a reality, put any nebulous feelings and mental stress in the rear-view mirror. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Saturday December 4 This is a good point in the Cosmic Kalendar to remind you that solar and planetary alignments on one day don’t just disappear 24 hours later. Instead, they remain in effect, but more in subliminal realms of awareness than impinging on our conscious radar screens. Therefore, the Total Solar Eclipse and the other potent sky cycles that just occurred as well as the recent Neptune shift from reverse to direct are all reverberating upon the inner levels of humanity’s psychic atmosphere. Assisting you in taking a couple of great leaps forward is the monthly Moon-Mercury union in Sagittarius (4:44am). Fun, games, sports, literary and educational interests top the charts. A parallel between Mercury and Venus (5:36pm) opens the gates of creative artistic exploration. Enthusiastic feelings abound as the Moon forms a supportive, 60-degree alliance with Jupiter in Aquarius (9:09pm). However, this liaison begins a 6+ hour void zone that continues until the Moon enters earthy Capricorn at 3:32am on Sunday. Stay resilient and confident since a Mars-Saturn parallel (10:23pm) — similar in nature to a Mars-Saturn conjunction in the zodiac except that this is happening as a union at 19 degrees south of the Celestial Equator — has the capacity to send you to the back of the class with a dunce cap on your head. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
