Global Hot Spot: The Capricorn New Moon on January 2, 2022

Dateline December 31, 2021: For those of you who are now enjoying the Astrology Cosmic Kalendar one day at a time – but who have not yet subscribed to be able to look several weeks into the future – here are the calendar entries for two very significant days (Sunday January 2 and Monday January 3). Because every day – beyond the current 24 hours that we define as one rotation of our celestial orb on its axis – has astro-zodiacal magic, mystery and wonder is why thousands of people around the world have been tuning into the Astrological Cosmic Kalendar for the last 40 years and since it was at the heart-center of our Welcome to Planet Earth pioneering astrology newspaper/magazine during the 1980s and 1990s.

The Capricorn New Moon happening on Sunday January 2, 2022 can make an extraordinary impact in your personal life and for all of humanity. You can read more about the upcoming New Moon vibrations in one of the two future calendar entries below as well as tune into Monday January 3 when the Moon unites with Venus, Pluto and Mercury while the Sun in Capricorn forms a highly-energizing and yet potentially volatile parallel with the red planet Mars in Sagittarius. Please consider the merits of subscribing to the Astrology Cosmic Kalendar App to strengthen your already developing skills as a seer who can tune into the future ahead of time.

For a wide variety of insights on both of these rather momentous days this month – particularly associated with the USA birth chart from July 4, 1776 – please listen to my recent podcasts in the Mark Lerner Astrology Radio AstroScope section on our website. Plus, in several of these podcasts I discuss the discovery on November 14, 2003 of the far-distant planet Sedna – which has an 11,400-year orbit around our Sun – and currently is making a rare, profound conjunction with the largest asteroid Ceres and the Mean Lunar North Node in late-Taurus near the Pleiades constellation. This trio of celestial forces – which remains powerful for the entire month of January – is rising and therefore supremely influential in the Capricorn New Moon horoscope calculated for Washington, D.C. This chart is shown at the end of this feature.

Future Cosmic Kalendar Entries for Sunday January 2 and Monday January 3 (All times are listed in PST.)

Sunday January 2 As indicated in yesterday’s calendar entry, the cautionary, slow down your tempo, dark-of-the-moon phase is running the celestial show until the solar and lunar orbs converge at the New Moon — activating 13 degrees of Capricorn (10:35am). Therefore, dashing around to push personal agendas at all cost during the dark lunar phase this Sunday is foolish. Plus, the Sun in Capricorn forging a subtle and yet still supportive, 30-degree link to Saturn in Aquarius (4:13am) while Mars is parallel distant Pluto (4:41am) are dual vibrations reinforcing the need to know what you are doing and where you are going. Once the New Moon clocks in at 10:35am, the big focus is on promoting career and professional aims. The Moon in conjunction with peace-and-harmony advocate Juno in Capricorn (7:55pm) can be utilized to enhance your primary partnerships. Explore your favorite fine or graphic arts as the Moon makes a supportive, 60-degree liaison with Neptune in Pisces (11:53pm). [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.] Monday January 3 On the first official workday of 2022, the heavens are super-active with sky configurations. Making sense of what’s truly going on is not easy to do as the Moon in Capricorn makes its monthly unions with Venus (2:00am) and Pluto (8:22am). These two planets were together on December 11 and December 25, and they will converge again on March 3. Emotional intensity is rising and a Sun-Mars parallel (11:04am) adds to the potency. The Moon conjunction with underworld chieftain Pluto (8:22am) begins a void lunar twilight zone until the Moon enters airy Aquarius (2:45pm). Put the kibosh on important ventures during this 6+ hour lunar limbo time-period. The largest asteroid Ceres in Taurus forms a trio of alignments — an abrasive, 135-degree tie to the Sun in Capricorn (11:20am), a dicey contra-parallel with responsibility-evoking Saturn in Aquarius (12:00pm) and a flowing trine to the Moon (12:09pm). Ceres is strongly associated with productivity in your main fields of expertise as well as mother-daughter relationships, dietary and nutritional needs, and nurturing elders and children. Communications, literary and educational pursuits are highlighted as the Moon joins forces with Messenger of the Gods Mercury in Aquarius during their monthly union (6:38pm). [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
